2029 OF/RHP Deric Morris (Winter Haven HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Tall, powerful presence that keeps a poised approach. Easy flowing hands with a quality follow through. Loud contact during batting practice that resulted in deep towering drives to left field and the gaps. Showed off an above average arm, topping out at 82 mph on his throws from right field during defensive drills. Valuable routes with precise footwork.
2029 RHP/OF Brodie Prater (South Sumter HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Filled up the zone in his outing during game action. Athletic motions throughout. Mid 70s fastball with a wipeout slider sitting in the upper 60s. Generated a handful of uncomfortable swings with confidence in his full arsenal. Clocked in at 6.97 secs for his 60 yard dash time as well.
2029 C/1B Derek Jones (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Swings with intent and shows present strength throughout, notably in the lower half. Ripped the ball deep into both gaps when he was on time. This translated to game action when he laced a double into the opposite field gap. Solid middle of the lineup bat that is progressing quickly.
2029 C Matthew Phelan (Community School of Naples, FL)
Uncommitted. Put together one of the more impressive batting practice sessions, lacing the ball all over the field. Works from a simple approach and stays direct to the ball, allowing his quick hands to do the work. Gap-to-gap hitter with still more power to come. Receives well behind the plate with accuracy on his throws, registering a pop time of 2.19 secs. Strong follow.
2029 OF/RHP Jake Mitchell (East Lake HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Long and lean frame with present athleticism. A very strong follow moving forward as he displayed loose and fast hands during batting practice, ripping the ball all over the field. The ball really jumped off the bat and there’s plenty more power to come. Upside on the bump too.
2029 C Deegan Piet (Wesley Chapel HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Tall frame with present physicality throughout. At the plate, showcased some pop to the pull side while lacing the ball back up the middle. With more power to unlock, he can repeat his swing with a strong foundation. Quiet, quick hands that flow through the zone fluently. Behind the plate, he can hold his own with a good skillset of blocking, framing and throwdowns.
2029 OF Benjamin Lawrence
Uncommitted. Slim, athletic frame that gets the most out of the body each swing. Quick hands and trusted mechanics. One of the smoother swings from his class and ripped the ball for hard line drives during batting practice. Polished follow through and displays an above average arm from the outfield as well.
2030 C Cole Wagner (FL)
Versatile, quick build that understands his mechanics well. Switch hitting abilities are valued and the approach is repeatable. Sharp contact from both sides. The hands are free and easy, showing the ability to spray the ball all over the field. In game action, was able to jump on his pitch to drive it through the pull side. Defensively, looks the part with blocking and framing being present.
2030 Brody Lerch (FL)
Real upside offensively as the hands are quick through the zone and finds the barrel for hard hard line drives. Ripped several deep into right-center field during batting practice. This was seen during game action when he again went the other way with the pitch for a base hit. Calm upper half with valued barrel path.
2030 Tallon Tufariello (FL)
Showcased one of the better swings from the weekend in the group. Physical, firm strength supplied upon each swing. Used the whole field, depositing line drives into the gaps. Motions are present and fluent with a solid foundation. Showcased overpowering stuff on the mound. Fastball sat 76-77 mph, paired with a changeup at 60-61 mph and a curveball at 69-70 mph. The tools are progressing rapidly and the frame is projectable.
2030 Nolan Gibbons (FL)
Presented quality mechanics and a strength filled upper half offensively. Quiet load with an easy ability to stay up the middle. Strong toolset. Sneaky pop that can be untapped. Solid understanding of his motions at the plate. Look for jumps in his overall game as he continues to mature.
