USA Prime Tampa 2026 Summer Showcase Tryouts Standouts 27/28s

From January 3rd-4th USA Prime Tampa Bay held their 2026 Summer Showcase Tryouts at Pasco-Hernando State College which included a pro-style workout day followed by live game action. Below is a list of players from the 2027/2028 classes (2029/2030s to follow this article) that stood out to our scouting staff and will be strong follows heading into the spring HS season.

2027 RHP Beaux Livingston (Steinbrenner HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Showed a present feel for his full arsenal with the ability to hit his spots. The fastball topped 86 mph with ride. Slider sat 72-75 mph. Changeup a few times at 74-75 mph and a curveball at 63-64 mph. Talented all around player that is progressing quickly. Topped 88 mph on his throws from the outfield, with precise routes and accuracy.
2027 OF Angel Delgado (Sunlake HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Showcased very efficient swings with athleticism present. Loud crack off the bat with barrel awareness. Great feel for the zone. Quiet and collective approach with quick hands, displaying fluent body motions pre swing. Above average runner which translates in multiple aspects.
2027 1B/LHP Gavin Shefsky (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Continues to trend upward on the mound. Fastball touched 83 mph paired with a curveball at 63-66 mph. Power upper half with a confident presence. Understands his mechanics with repeatability. Shows present juice offensively from the left side of the plate. Strong hands. Projectable frame that will keep adding physicality.
2027 IF/OF Deacon Turpin (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Put together one of the loudest and impressive batting practice sessions, driving the ball all over the field. Athletic frame that projects to fill out, see jumps in gap-to-gap power. The hands are fast and find the barrel often. Produced plenty of hard line drives. Strong follow this spring.
2027 C Ronan Piet (Wesley Chapel HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Has a strong lower half and utilizes it to drive the ball, mostly back up the middle and to the pull side for line drives. Creates loud, hard contact with present juice. Receives well behind the plate with accuracy on his throws to the bag.
2028 C Tristan Beatty (Cypress Creek HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Strong follow heading into the spring as the hands are quick and strong through the zone and shows a present feel for the barrel for hard hit line drives. Present physicality throughout. Also displayed present pop into both gaps. Works in sync and suited to drive in runs. Defends well and works with confidence behind the plate.
2028 IF Trey Gonzalez
Uncommitted. Displayed loud pop off the bat during batting practice. Several one hops to the left field fence. Easy power with a patient back side. Explosive stride. Carrying over from his impressive batting practice rounds into game action, he laced a ball into the left field corner for a double. Good swing decisions and a confidence that stands out. 6.69 secs 60 yard dash time.
2028 IF Zach Guerrero (Alonso HS, FL)
Uncommitted. Put together quality swings from the right side with hands that are loose and quick through the zone. Worked gap to gap and displayed improved mechanics. Still more power to unlock as he continues to fill out. Confident defender as well.
2028 C Wren Keen (Homeschooled, FL)
Uncommitted. A switch hitting catcher that is capable of doing damage on both sides. Smooth, calm approach working up the middle. Ability to repeat motions each swing. Behind the plate can call a game with confidence, work well with the pitcher and is able to block/frame well.
