2025 Mid-Summer Uncommitted Standouts: 2027s
With the month of July upon us and the summer season just past the mid-way point, our scouting staff has had the opportunity to watch hundreds of players at various events. Today we are highlighting some of the top standouts who are still uncommitted and should be followed closely to finish out the summer season, upcoming fall season. Additionally, many mentioned below have recent videos that have been uploaded to our YouTube Channel. Tonight we continue our breakdown with the 2027 class. 2027 IF/RHP Chase Dougherty (Power 27 Victus)
Athletic frame with present physicality throughout, notably in the lower half. Loose, quick hands that look to drive the ball with intent back up the middle and to the pull side. Still more power to unlock. Consistently finds a way on base and grinds out at-bats. On the mound he features a fastball up to 83/84 mph while showing a present feel for both the curveball and changeup in the low 70s. Makes an impact in multiple ways.
2027 C/RHP Evan Plusquellic (Ostingers 27 Green)
Taller, athletic frame with present strength throughout who has stood out multiple times this summer, both offensively and behind the plate. Above average bat speed from the right side with a present feel for the barrel that creates loud, hard contact as the ball jumps off the bat. Has produced not only extra base hits into the gaps, but some over the wall as well. Defensively he receives well and displays a quick catch and release which has translated to multiple base runners being thrown out. Has been up to 87 mph with his fastball on the mound too.
2027 C/RHP Matthew Wetherell (Power 27 Victus)
Physical frame, notably in the lower half. Has been one of the top hitters seen through the month of June, coming through with a base hit time and time again. Confident and balanced approach from the right side with a present feel for the barrel that not only allows him to drive the ball with intent, but for extra base hits deep in the gaps. Offensive force in the 3 spot. Behind the plate he has thrown out multiple base runners, showing off an accurate and above average arm. Moves well laterally to keep the ball in front of him.
2027 RHP/IF Tristan Macpherson (Ostingers 27 Green)
Tall, athletic frame with present physicality that translates in multiple ways. Shows big time potential on the mound as he runs his fastball up to 92 mph with life. Mostly pitches at 87-91 (2450+ RPM) while mixing in 68-71 mph curveball with depth, 2660+ RPM. Occasionally will throw a low 80s changeup as well. Fast arm with more in there. Offensively the hands are fast and strong through the zone from the right side, driving the ball with intent.
2027 OF Alejandro Fernandez (CBU Scout Team Pascual)
Lean, athletic frame with a natural smoothness, rhythm to his overall game. From the left side of the plate offensively he consistently works the count, finds a way on base. Will choke up on the bat, widen his stance as needed throughout the count. Loose, quick hands and has shown the ability to turn on the ball and drive it down the line for extra base hits while going back up the middle, driving the ball the other way as well. Heads up baserunner. Defensively he ranges freely and makes accurate throws to the bag.
2027 RHP/IF Jorge Cordova (Ostingers 27 Green)
Athletic frame that will continue to fill out, add physicality. Above average feel for the game, instincts. Quick arm with confidence throwing his full arsenal. Features a fastball up to 88 mph with life, sitting mostly in the 85-87 range. Mixes in both the slider in the mid to upper 70s along with a curveball in the low 70s. Offensively the hands are loose and quick with a present feel for the barrel. Consistently drives the ball gap-to-gap for extra base hits. More power to come too. Sound defender who makes the plays with accurate throws to the bag. Quality bloodlines as well.
2027 1B/RHP Dylan Montrowl (Power 27 Victus)
Tall, athletic 6-foot-8 frame that continues to fill out, add physicality. Offensively the hands are loose and quick with above average bat speed from the right side that consistently barrels pitches up for loud, hard contact. Ropes that ball all over the field and has driven in multiple runs out of the cleanup spot. On the mound he runs his fastball up to 88/89 mph with run, movement. Mixes in a low 70s curveball with depth as well. Look for jumps in his overall stuff as he refines his mechanics on the mound.
2027 RHP Max Estroff (Ostingers 27 Green)
Athletic frame that will continue to fill out, add physicality. Works from a simple windup and stays poised, balanced throughout his outings. Quick arm and features a fastball in the 83-85 mph range with life, touching 86 with more to come. Also mixes in a lower 70s curveball that shows depth along with a mid 70s changeup. Shows a quality mix of his pitches.
2027 IF/RHP Tristan Bolsch (FL Elite 16u Scout Team)
Physical, athletic frame and continues to make strides in his overall game. From the right side of the plate offensively he demonstrates fast, strong hands through the zone and finds the barrel often. Ball really jumps off the bat with present gap-to-gap power that translates to extra base hits. On the mound the fastball sits in the low 80s but there’s plenty more in the tank. Shows a present feel for the rest of his arsenal that includes a changeup, cutter, curveball, and slider.
2027 IF/RHP Aiden Cary (Ostingers 27 Green)
Lean, athletic frame. Still room to fill out which will translate to jumps in his overall game. On the mound he releases from a lower arm slot that creates a tough at-bat for opposing hitters. All of his pitches show plenty of movement. Fastball sits in the low to mid 80s range while the changeup in the low 70s along with a mid 70s slider with depth create off-balance swings and misses. Offensively the hands are quick through the zone and displays the ability to drive the ball back up the middle and to the pull side for base hits. Fields the ball under control with accurate throws across the diamond.
