2025 Mid-Summer Uncommitted Standouts: 2028s

With the month of July upon us and the summer season just past the mid-way point, our scouting staff has had the opportunity to watch hundreds of players at various events. Today we are highlighting some of the top standouts who are still uncommitted and should be followed closely to finish out the summer season, upcoming fall season. Additionally, many mentioned below have recent videos that have been uploaded to our YouTube Channel. Tonight we conclude our breakdown with the 2028 class. 2028 OF Jaxon Brown (Ostingers 28 Green)
Compact, athletic frame and plays with energy. Difference maker at the top of the order, consistently finding ways on base by driving the ball all over the field. Uses his above average speed for not only XBHs, but creates plenty of pressure on the base paths. Defensively he shows the ability to cut the ball down in the gaps, take efficient routes. Above average arm with carry on his throws.

2028 IF Hudson Rivera (CBU 28 Scout Team Warren)
Athletic frame with a stronger lower half. Has stood out offensively this summer, displaying the ability to drive the ball all over the field from the right side of the plate. Confident hitter with loose, quick hands that can drive the ball with intent. Feel for the barrel, gap-to-gap power to come. Fields the ball under control and with accurate throws to the bag.

2028 IF/RHP Cale Cowart (Burn 28 Scout Team)
Tall, athletic frame that will continue to fill out, add physicality. Offensively he works from a wide base and not only shows the ability to go the other way, but turn on the pitch and drive the ball with intent to the pull side. On the mound he shows a quick arm and runs his fastball up to 83 mph. Mostly sits 79-82 while mixing in a low 70s curveball with depth. Look for multiple jumps in his overall game. 

2028 IF/RHP Zachary Konrad (Power 28 Marucci)
Taller frame with present strength throughout. Two-way prospect who has stood out both on the mound and offensively. Features a fastball up to 82 mph and mostly sits 77-81 while mixing in a 69-71 mph curveball with depth and a 72-73 mph changeup. Generates swings and misses with the fastball and lands the curveball for strikes. More in the tank. Works a wide base and a simple approach offensively with quick, strong hands from the right side. Displays the ability to drive the ball back up the middle and to the pull side with intent. 

2028 OF Jackson Lehr (Burn 28 Guthrie)
Immediately stands out with his big, physical frame and long levers. Displays above average bat speed from the right side with loose, quick hands and has been on a tear offensively this summer, producing multiple extra base hits deep into the gaps. Ball really jumps off the bat and there’s still plenty of power to unlock. Above average runner, ranges freely to the ball in the outfield.

2028 RHP Toby Glass (FL Elite 16u Scout Team)
Athletic frame with a quick arm that pounds the strike zone, notably the inner half to right-handed hitters at times. Fastball up to 84 mph and mostly pitches at 81-83 with more to come as he continues to add to his frame. Mixes in a mid 70s curveball that shows depth, shape. Occasionally will mix in a low 70s changeup. Pitches with confidence and poise. Look for multiple jumps in his overall stuff to continue.

2028 IF Connor Maloy (Burn 28 Guthrie)
Lean, athletic frame that will continue to fill out, see jumps in power from an offensive perspective. Simple approach from the right side with above average bat speed. Looks to impact the ball at the front of the zone, drive it back up the middle. Versatile defender that can make plays in multiple spots.
